The panel is an exploration of the connections between queer art and activism, exploring how queer art has been a part of revolutionary movements over the last hundred years. This event will look back at the queer revolutions of the past, present and future!

Join us for an abolitionist trivia style community event. A space for local abolitionists, educators, community members, etc. to gather and test their knowledge of current to historical, local to global abolitionist trivia. The event will be a fundraiser for two Philadelphians and currently incarcerated comrades, Khalif Miller and Mechie Scott. 

Bring your trivia team with you and come for an evening of community building, political education, and raising money for our incarcerated comrades!

We ask for a $10-20 entry for the event, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds

We will have child care provided by Philly Childcare Collective (Accessibility note: the room that the childcare would happen in is on the second floor and is only accessible via stairs, not a ramp or elevator.)

The event will be masking optional, we will have masks and rapid tests available at the entry table

There will be snacks and beverages (all non-alcoholic) available to purchase at the event

Bhob Rainey is a Philadelphia-based composer, saxophonist, and sound designer celebrated for his innovative contributions to contemporary, experimental, and improvised music. A recipient of the prestigious Pew Fellowship in the Arts and co-founder of the influential improvisational duo nmperign, Rainey has garnered acclaim for his groundbreaking work across disciplines, including collaborations in theater, dance, and visual art. Greg Kelley has performed throughout North America, Europe, Japan, Argentina & Mexico at numerous festivals, in clubs, outdoors, in living rooms, in a bank, and at least once on a vibrating floor. He has collaborated with a number of musicians across the globe performing experimental music, free jazz and noise, appearing on over 100 recordings in the process. Genre - Cosmic Acoustic American Revival (Cowboy Hillbilly Hippie Folk)

The Edge Hill Rounders (EHR) are an acoustic music group featuring both originals and great covers in a mix of folk, cosmic americana,bluegrass, rock, and old time genres. Paul Mamolou (guitar) and Tim Cheney (mandolin) deliver tight vocal harmonies inspired byartists like Ira and Charlie Louvin and Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman of the Flying Burrito Brothers. John Mahony adds sizzlingfiddle, with Chris Gately on drums, and Topher Horner on bass. EHR’s songwriting covers a broad spectrum, from wry wit to songs that tug on your heartstrings and on to the folk tradition of songs reporting current events. The Rounders have performed at all of the area folk venues including four times at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Paul Mamolou and Tim Cheney founded the band in 2014 when they discovered their voices matched perfectly and shared a passion for rootsy country harmonies. The Shoeshiners play a mix of bluesy Americana Roots Rock that sets them apart from most bands in this area. Based in Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware Counties in PA, the quintet creates something unique with fans returning for more. 

Each venue's set list is carefully cultivated to ensure the right mix for the time/place/audience.  Cover Song Selection- Their cover songs cross multiple genres and periods, focusing on well-known songs that are not typically played. In addition, the Shoeshiners love to adapt pop songs and spin them into something new and different. Lastly, they stay true to their roots and offer songs that come from long ago, but have been reimagined to keep them relevant.  Originals - The Shoeshiners sets feature originals that will stop you in your tracks. With two writers in the band, new originals are added to each show and have become some of their most popular requests.
