    The Re-AWAKENING 2026 event features a vibrant blend of conscious music, spoken word, guest speakers, film screening, connecting with organizations, strategic planning, cultural vendors and support for local Black-owned businesses.

    Programming Focus: Community empowerment, Black culture, resilience, edutainment, & social upliftment. The overarching theme of the Reawakening event centers on cultural renewal, spiritual resurrection, and community self-reliance within the African diaspora. Rather than just a concert or a festival, the event is designed as a form of "edutainment"—using arts and history to educate, heal, and politically mobilize the neighborhood.     Sankofa Principle: Rooted in the African concept of "looking to the past to move forward," the programming connects ancient African history and civilization with modern-day struggles and achievements.

    Collective Healing: The event addresses systemic struggles and intergenerational trauma by offering a safe space focused on mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.

    Economic Solidarity: A central theme is the pooling of local resources, emphasizing the buying and circulating of dollars within Black-owned businesses.

    The True Purpose of the Gathering

    A Cultural Hub: Providing a stage for independent, conscious musical artists, poets, and visual storytellers whose work is often omitted from mainstream media.
