The company is preparing for a Shakespearean festival that will focus on Shakespeare's couples. We will be exploring Othello and Desdamona, Lady MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Antony and Cleopatra.
Rita Jones started out at the Hedgrow Theatre and the Philadelphia Dance Academy. From there she moved on to New York, where she studied at the Martha Graham Studio and performed with the Morelli Ballet and Simonsen-Jazz. Among numerous other roles, she was chosen by Ferdinand Mault to perform Hamlet at the Northeast Regional Ballet in Toronto, Canada. For some time, she has been moving toward a deeper integration of music and drama, especially with an eye towards dramatic representations of the Classics. She constantly seeks new ways to aid her dancers in performance of the subtleties of human emotion.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Admission is $5.
