Bassist Bert Harris leads this ensemble of jazz and world music musicians playing original compositions, American and South African jazz, Reggae, New Orleans jazz and Ska. For this concert The Afrojazz Collective will play primarily tunes by South African Jazz composers, who through their music and activism helped to dismantle the South African Governments System of apartheid. This concert is a birthday tribute for South African Anglican bishop and theologian, Reverend Desmond Tutu, known for his aniti-apartheid and human rights activism.
