Ira Dot's IN BLUE TIME (Album Release) w/ the Lifeblood and Ceiling Star
Tagline: Ever wanted to know what the color blue sounds like? Ira Dot performs their new record IN BLUE TIME, alongside performances from the Lifeblood & Ceiling Star.
Event description:
Join us at The Rotunda for a night of dynamic and heartfelt songs, commemorating the release of indie-experimental Toronto band Ira Dot’s debut album In Blue Time. Recorded over 5 years, the album is an eclectic genre hybrid (slacker rock, electropop, sound collage, etc.), a meditation on the colour blue, and a tenderhearted study of melancholia.
Ira Dot have been profiled in publications such as C Magazine, Under the Radar and Our Culture Mag, featured on radio networks including NTS, and received YouTube comments such as "This feels like falling asleep at a family gathering as a child, it's amazing" and "Sometimes this sounds like a fat middle-finger to all of the pre-packaged ultra processed poison that they're feeding our mind's-eye in a week-end state of the art of the deal of the century's passed out of time. And I totally mean that as a compliment! Yabba-dabba doooo!"
They are supported by Philadelphia's favorite alt-country band the Lifeblood -- whose car wheels on a gravel road will limb-loosen whirl you into heart-throbin' sweetbitterness and New Jersey-acclaimed indie rock outfit Ceiling Star -- whose Wurlitzer guitar-tones sing across the sky like two hundred birds down in a hotel lobby teaching you the art of trading shame for self-respect.
This is a special performance, it will be Ira Dot's first show in Philadelphia, so come out if you're curious because this will be the only chance to see them live in Philadelphia! Vinyl and merch available.
