Touch of Classics! Presents “Fun in the 18TH Century” on October 22nd & 23rd!
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - 10/01/2016 - Touch of Classics! Is offering two “revolutionary” musical presentations at The Rotunda in West Philadelphia. Touch of Classics! James R. Longacre and Dorothy Cardella bring this fully staged and costumed musical entertainment for the enjoyment of young and old alike.
The two shows are entertaining as well as instructional: An Opera Folly is a short, comic introduction to opera and the four singing voices which make up the musical form: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass and weaves, through singing, a story of love lost and found, jealousy, revenge, female fireworks, mistaken identity and, of course, a happy ending for all! The music is fun and easily accessible for all ages.
The second musical offering is Ben Franklin & Friends, which involves the great Benjamin Franklin’s time in London and France during the founding of America and told through reminisces and music. This is an original work by Touch of Classics!‘s Dorothy Cardella and James R. Longacre and presented for the first time. The piano accompanist for both shows is the talented Hannah Salmon.
The production features a talented cast of performers within the intimate atmosphere of The Rotunda. In the cast are sopranos Dorothy Cardella and Rachel Daly, alto Sharon Derstine, tenor James R. Longacre and basses Edward Bogusz and Steven Raytek.
Cost of the opera is $15.00 per Adults and $10.00 for Children 12 & under (cash only at the door). All the family is encouraged to join us for the performances! FunSavers will be offered for Saturday’s Performance. Check www.phillyfunguide.com/funsavers for information.
