Catching Babies is the journey of women as they reclaim the tradition of midwifery on the border." The film follows three student-midwives during their journey at the midwifery school Maternidad la Luz in El Paso, Texas. We watch as mothers go through the emotional experiences during their pregnancies and births, as they overcome challenges with the help of family and their midwives.
The documentary follows these young women as they discover the highs and lows of what it means to pursue midwifery, home birth, and Mexica culture.
